Suite Française (2014)

This romantic drama in the context of World War II follows a lonely french woman, Lucile, as she waits for news of her husband, a prisoner of war, and begins an affair with a german soldier who moves into her village along with his regiment. Based on the novel by Irène Némirowsky, with strong performances by Michelle Williams, Matthias Schoenaerts and Kristin Scott Thomas and an incredible production design, this is a must-see film for fans of the genre.
