The Nutcracker (1989)

No sex or nudity. This is essentially a very faithful remake of the Bolshoi's 1987 DVD of "The Nutcracker", but with different dancers and better photography. In this one, however, both Natalya Arkhipova (as Clara, not Maria as in the earlier production) and Irek Mukhamedov (as the Nutcracker Prince) are slightly more demonstrative in their affection for each other than the dancers who perform the same roles in the 1987 production (Ekaterina Maximova and Vladimir Vasilev). They come very close to embracing affectionately after their first dance together, and again early in Act II. Later, Clara leans her head against the Prince's chest and he puts his hand on her shoulder affectionately during the "Final Waltz", as the attendants place the bridal veil on her; then during this waltz, the two stand with their arms around each other (as in the earlier Bolshoi version) as the ballet company dances around them.
