Gama, the daughter of the archivist Theobald, is in love with her music teacher, Genius. Gama reciprocates him, but Tosio, a rich but under-daddy suitor of Gama, stands in the way, who is trying to marry her and enjoys the sympathy of his parents, unlike Genius. Genius loses his job because Gama's mom notices him kissing her daughter. . . Genius and Tosio compete for the favor of a beautiful girl, using various stratagems (e.g. Genius convinces his rival to commit a murder) and experiencing various adventures (e.g. while escaping from the policemen, one finds shelter in a chest, which they take away in an unknown direction, while the other hides in a barrel, which crashes into a lamp post). . . Appropriately disguised, Genius returns to his beloved's home as a new music teacher. Gama's father, an avid spiritualist, invites a famous yoga person to a private session, but instead of yoga, Genius appears in another disguise. He will prophesy to Gama the marriage with the first man with a chrysanthemum in his lapel encountered on September 11. Of course it will be Genius. . . Several years have passed. Tosio, who cried bitterly seeing his beloved on the wedding carpet at the side of a rival, is genuinely amused when he meets the herd surrounded by seven babies.
