In 1976, three years after the brutal, unsolved murder of young mother Dee McGuire (Alanna Thompson, An Ordinary Killer), Michigan State Police Detective Lynn Kendall (DJ Perry, An Ordinary Killer), is thrown into the secretive and violent world of the Ku Klux Klan as he probes the killing of a young black woman in a small Michigan town near Detroit. The dynamics of the case, which have drawn national media attention, are a potential powder keg, threatening to reignite further death and destruction, nationwide, in the wake of the '67 race riots, the slayings of Martin Luther King Jr. and Bobby Kennedy, rise of the counter-culture and Black Panther Party proliferation, Kent State, Vietnam, Watergate and many other defining events of the era. Detective Kendall fights his own personal demons as he tries to bring the killers to justice.
