The Coming (2008)

A down-and-out tabloid newspaper reporter gets a tip that a man claiming to be Jesus Christ is being held in a nearby mental institution. He assumes it is a routine story until he finds out that the mystery man performed a miracle in the hospital. Then he meets people who want to break this Jesus out and those who are frightened of the man who claims to have returned to save the world once again. The reporter finds himself in between the disciples and the establishment. He realizes how serious everyone is and that the conclusion is not going to be pretty.
