This film is extremely realistic and heavily within the lines of social realism think a long the lines of films like Sweet Sixteen, This Is England, Dead Man's Shoes, Evil or even The Snowtown Murders. Very gritty and depressing with an almost documentary feel to the dialogue sequences. The film deals with themes of abuse, trauma and suicide.
The film is bleak and sad with a very powerful message and occasionally funny moments. This film still may sadden and depress a lot of viewers.
