During a solar eclipse, a hole in the ozone layer opens, allowing super-chilled air from the mesosphere to plummet to Earth. The cold front freezes everything in its path, turning people and landscapes to ice in seconds. The event begins in southern Australia but quickly spreads to other parts of the world, with new ozone holes appearing over places like the UK and the Netherlands. As a new Ice Age looms, physicist Jack Tate leads efforts to repair the damage.
