When 12-year-old Duke Bardwell first heard Elvis Presley's "Old Shep" on the radio in 1957 the course of his journey was forever changed. But there's danger in meeting one's hero and Duke learned that the hard way when 17 years later he landed his dream job playing bass for his childhood idol. The experience left Duke emotionally scarred and disillusioned with the music business.
