Maid in China (2009)

Shot guerilla style in the slums of Shanghai with a non-professional cast, Maid In China is a moving drama about a peasant woman struggling to make a life in the big city. She's exploited and abused by everyone around her but endures it for the sake of the young son she is separated from. Then one night she sees a handsome young man washing in the street outside her window, a vision of hope which begins to change her life.
