The German-Americans: 300 Years in the New Land celebrates the tricentennial of the arrival of the first German immigrants. Made in 1983, the film pays homage to the cultural and philosophical influence of German immigrants and examines the role they have held in our society. Through commentary, historic photographs, and interviews with three representative families, some of which are now eighth generation German-Americans, the film provides insight into the long and rich history of Germans in the United States.
