Abandoned houses are many, hidden. Their existence is accompanied by legends, accounts, and hidden stories that have to be chased with the curiosity and the imaginative wonder that is typical of childhood. "Case Abbandonate" is the outcome of a commitment that aims at capturing the memory of places. The research and the interviews, edited by Alessandro Scillitani and Mirella Gazzotti, are collected by the voices of those who hung out in those places, lived them, knew them. Furthermore, the documentary avails itself of several contributions of writers, directors, poets, historians, such as Tonino Guerra, Pupi Avati, Marco Revelli, Antonella Tarpino, Vito Teti, Massimo Bubola, Danilo Arona, Fabio Iemmi, Riccardo Marchesini, and Cesare Bastelli, who tell their stories, their life experiences, their memory of lived and neglected houses. Our country is characterized by a flair for forgetting, neglecting the value of memory. This work documents all that keeps crumbling day after day.
