C.B. DeMille is the heroic adventure of Cecil B. DeMille, the iconic Hollywood director of 70 major motion pictures, including Cleopatra, The Ten Commandments, and The Greatest Show On Earth. We follow his struggles from coming to California in 1913 to his death in 1959. His long-suffering wife, Constance, and his precocious daughter, Ciddy, play important parts when he is at home. Julia Faye and Jeanie Macpherson are his lovers and co-workers throughout his life. Adolph Zukor, the ruthless New York producer, opposes DeMille's creative vision every step of the way. Film pioneers Jesse Lasky and Sam Goldwyn add comic relief. From scandals and setbacks to stellar successes and comebacks, creativity overcomes commercialism. C.B. DeMille fights impossible odds to become the most powerful moviemaker in history.
