Adopted by her grandfather at a tender age, Sayome grew up in a small and remote Japanese village without ever knowing her parents. As a result, at the age of 22, love-smitten Sayome takes the bold decision of leaving Japan, following an intriguing Greek mariner, whom will marry a few years later in the island of Crete. However, thirty-five years later, the death of Sayome's mother will bring her back to her hometown in Japan. This is a documentation of Sayome's long trip home, recording her journey as she visits the country of her childhood and youth, after so many years. Inevitably, during the search of her past, Sayome will discover a part of herself that she was previously unaware of.
