'Meet Me On The Southbank' evokes the spirit of classic romantic comedy films such as 'When Harry Met Sally', 'Four Weddings and a Funeral', 'Notting Hill' and 'Annie Hall'. Alan knows only once place he can go to escape his troubles: the London BFI South Bank, where he can indulge in his favourite classic films. Hopelessly single, the nearest Alan gets to a date is when his eccentric best friend Chris accompanies him to the cinema. But then by chance, or perhaps by fate, Alan encounters Clare. A young ingénue who also likes to go to the BFI alone. A match made in heaven you would think... Not quite. Clare is already in a relationship, and Alan has a tendency for romanticising life like it was a film. However, despite an unusual introduction, they strike up a friendship and start to meet regularly and only on the South Bank. Over the course of one year, we follow their story. Watching classic films, riding the London Eye, dancing like Fred Astaire, and eventually... falling in love. But as Alan and Clare find out, life isn't like a film, and love isn't simple. Will these two people, clearly made for each other, be able to exist together outside their South Bank romance?
