Way Beyond Weight (2012)

Directed by Estela Renner and sponsored by Alana Institute, the documentary Way Beyond Weight is a faithful and wide-ranging portrait of obesity, the largest childhood epidemic in history. To portray the issue with real stories and characters, the team travelled the five regions of the country, experienced different social realities and interviewed experts from Brazil, Latin America, United States of America, Europe and Asia. These are stories of children, parents, teachers, and doctors that thrill, shock, inform and warn about obesity. Strengthened by numerical data, the film builds a broad and thoughtful account on the issue.
