Georg Sahl, one of the last major newspaper publishers with liberal-conservative quality standards, received an offer from Frankfurt's mayor to become Federal President. His wife Franziska, a successful Frankfurt divorce lawyer, is initially not very happy about the fact that she will soon only be representing herself as "First Lady". And Georg's young lover Nina, a trainee at his newspaper, the "Frankfurter Nachrichten", suddenly becomes clear that things are about to change. When Georg is invited to a TV talk show in Hamburg, Nina follows him to the hotel - determined to commit to Georg. After a heated argument in the hotel room, Nina runs into the street, is hit by a car and seriously injured. Dissolved and completely overwhelmed by this situation, Georg calls his wife: She sets off immediately to save what can still be saved. Nevertheless, the next morning, in the online editions of the daily newspapers, a connection is made between Georg's presence in the Hamburg hotel and Nina's accident before. From now on, Georg's career is marked with a big question mark.
