Dean Gold (Lou Pimber), a recently-freed prisoner of war, has returned home from Afghanistan to his family in Tucson, Arizona. He suffers from PTSD, and finds himself to be incredibly emotionally unstable: lashing out at loved ones, erratic and paranoid behavior, flashing back to the his captivity, etc. Through Dean's constant flashbacks, it is revealed that his escape was due to another POW he met inside the prison camp, known only as "Adam" (Adam Gold). Adam got Dean out, and kept him alive through a twenty-mile trek through the waterless Afghan desert. When exhaustion set in, the two collapsed and had an emotional exchange before eventually passing out...upon waking to the sound of a rescue helicopter, however, Dean could find no trace of Adam, and the rescue crew reported no signs of another person. This memory of Adam haunts him, and though doctors and family insist it was nothing more than a hallucination, Dean is determined to solve the mystery of the man who saved him . In his search for answers, Dean discovers many truths about his past, his family, and himself--truths that eventually open his eyes, and save him from himself.
