Prostate cancer has for too long been a taboo topic amongst African American men. Black men are less like to have routine prostate exams or receive chemotherapy and radiation if diagnosed. Through this documentary our goal is to change this statistic. We intend to go to social gatherings across the United States and talk to African American men from all walks of life in a "town hall" setting. We will discuss their fears, concerns and myths they have about their health, prostate exams and what it means to eat healthy. To help dispel the myths and rumors, we will also talk with medical professionals who treat and screen cancer patients. In addition to the discussions, we will follow three different African American men at three different ages and stages of prostate issues. A 62-year old man who has Stage 4 prostate cancer and is currently in treatment. A 61-year old man who has been diagnosed with Stage 1 prostate cancer and scheduled for a second opinion and 48-year old man who has had prostate surgery and is in remission. Through their stories we will educate men and dissolve the fear of being open to discuss their health.
