"We are the result of an anti mafia culture made of heroes" says Michele Gagliardo talking about the future, talking about a generation that works on confiscated Mafia properties. Converted spaces where the active involvement of the citizen becomes crucial. Spaces contrasting compulsory and antisocial environments, such as a safari zoo. This theme park contains metaphorically the whole of Italy: an open-air museum at the mercy of a lack of collective participation and awareness. The Low Barrier is a journey through an Italy consisting of islands, where the engagement of new generations takes shape and germinates. It seems we're experiencing a possible Renaissance, witnessing a slow revolution. In France its name is Décroissance (Degrowth). Others in America calls it the Age of Access. To us, it's the second generation of civic-mindedness.
