Maudie (2016)

Maud Dowley, a woman with severe arthritis, lives in 1930s rural Nova Scotia. After her brother sells their family home, Maud seeks independence and takes a job as a housekeeper for Everett Lewis. Though their relationship begins antagonistically, with Everett often mistreating her, Maud finds solace in painting the walls of their small home. As Maud’s artistic reputation grows, her relationship with Everett evolves into love.
