1807 was one of the most dramatic and catastrophic years in Denmark's history. Drama-documentary depiction of the prelude and the diplomatic complications that led to the bombing of Copenhagen. England put thumbscrews on the Danes - and only too late did the Danes understand what it was all about. The English army and navy surrounded Copenhagen, bombed the city to pieces and disappeared again with the nation's pride: the Danish navy. Golden years were thus over and Denmark was facing difficult times.
