Hotel Refinement

Andrew, Haydon and Doris plan a burglary. Doris is Haydon's girlfriend, but flirts with Andrew. When Haydon goes to jail, Andrew drives off with Doris. Andrew has nightmares- about Guantanamo and torture. Scenes from Visconti's film Lo Straniero, based on the novel by Camus, augment the story. When Haydon is released from jail, the three meet up again at Hotel Refinement, an ancient elegant mansion. Relations are strained among the three, relieved by Haydon planning a new burglary with the Arab he meets in jail. Doris goes back to Haydon, and Andrew returns to his dull life of selling real estate. Bob Dylan- His song "Political World" underlines the theme of torture and Guantanamo. His song "Heart of Mine" counterpoints the new lovers driving off.
