Medaram Jaathara is a four-day biennial carnival in memory of two tribal deities, Sammakka and Saarakka, whose folklore trace 800 years back with multiple oral narratives. Attracting devotees from all over the country to the small village called Medaram in Telangana State, the festival saw a footfall of over a crore in 2018, making it one of the largest human congregations of South Asia, only next to Kumbh Mela in India.
