Martín, who appears in the movie as narrator playing Game of the Goose to reveal the connection between the game and the Way to Santiago, El Crucigrama de Jacob (Jacob's Crossword) is a mix between documentary with historical drama that follows the story of Saúl, a devoted and fearful man of God who in the 13th century starts a travel following Jacob's Original Way (too called Primitive Way) that it connects Oviedo, capital of the Principality of Asturias (north to Spain), with Santiago de Compostela, capital of Galicia (northwest to Spain), looking for give peace to his stormy soul. At the same time historians, priests and mayors of towns and cities are interviewed to camera to explain the past of Jacob's Original Way and the magnitude of the discovery in the 9th century of the theoretical mortal remains of the apostle Santiago (St. James) in the little town of Compostela during the kingdom of Alfonso II el Casto (Alfonso II the Chaste). A discovery that it caused that eventually the town changed the name to later Santiago de Compostela, and that the own Jacob's Original Way was traced by Alfonso II, in his journey from Oviedo to Santiago to see the apostle's mortal remains, turning him unwillingly in the first pilgrim of the way.
