Mohammad (Mo), a taxi driver, is a gambling addict who is desperately trying to win a large sum of money so that he can move on from a family death tragedy in his life which is giving him ongoing nightmares. Using complex formulae to bet on races where his horses never win, he now owes a huge debt to a local criminal. One evening he picks up a ride, a man Lucas and a woman Jenie, who provide a service which involves talking to the dead to help people find their deceased loved ones, which could possibly be a scam. They ask Mo to drive them around for a few days as part of a job they are doing. As Jenie seems to be able to predict the future, Mo sees in her an opportunity for him to become rich and achieve his ambition. Unknown to him and true to her name, she gives Mo a couple of wishes to bet on some winning horses, his presence also seeming to help her to connect better with the dead. As Mo's betting becomes more successful, Jenie and Lucas's relationship deteriorates and becomes violent and they finally part ways. Mo's betting successes also draw the attention of the local criminal fraternity, who hunt him down to stop his winning streak, until Jenie gives Mo a third and final tragic wish which allows him to join the family he has been mourning for so long.
