AKA Doctor Hope (2019)

Dr. Gary Onik has spent the last 40 years pioneering new techniques in the fight against cancer, many of which have become standard practice worldwide. He has arguably had a greater impact on cancer therapy than any single physician, and he has rightly earned many national and international accolades and awards for his work. In the last few years Dr. Onik has been pioneering a potential new treatment for metastatic prostate cancer. However, in the ultimate twist of irony, Dr. Onik himself was diagnosed with this very condition. In December 2018, he under went surgery using the new technique while fully awake and guiding the surgeon in the proper technique. He will get initial results about the success of the new technique - and his own future - this February. In a new documentary film, Dr. Hope, the first part of Dr. Onik's incredible story is told, complete with interviews with patients, friends and colleagues.
