We witness a deep-rooted, intimate fight about eggs and toast...ends a marriage. The marriage of two notorious criminals of 1920s Arizona, that is. And, of course, it's interrupted by their adorable daughter Gracie, who holds up a wanted poster and proclaims, "Guys, look what I found. I'm still a baby here!" Their daughter, Gracie, grows up, juggled between her divorced parents' care; the rambunctious adventures of Eagle Eyes versus Sidewinder's quiet and depressed world - and the dreaded "third place" being her Aunt's house, who is a small-town teacher and wannabe college attendee who shares nothing in common with Gracie besides a first name. When Sidewinder's gunshot stirs the empty town of Rye, Arizona, it is revealed that Sidewinder has wounded a visiting innocent youth - and then sped away in his car. Simultaneously, Gracie's mom disappears. Gracie calls all the cantinas in town but nobody has seen the notorious sharpshooter. So, Gracie decides to take matters into her own hands. Armed with the help of bumbling Sheriff Cabazos, Gracie goes on an adventure to find her parents, meeting dozens of diverse Midwestern characters along the way (a magician turned highwayman, a fan-girl and singer of Tonto-Apache descent, a retired saloon owner, and many more)...who will all coincidentally come back as the tale continues to serve a unique purpose and complete their character arc. This is the pilot episode and will serve as the introduction to Gracie and Cabazos's adventures.
