Jacob Birney

Jacob Birney is a rising filmmaker, composer, and recent graduate from Humber College's Film & Television Production program. He began his career as a Director of Photography for the documentary "Smashing Keys," which received the Award of Excellence at the Canada Shorts - Canadian & International Short Film Festival. Jacob has since diversified his skill set to gain expertise in all facets of filmmaking, working as a Casting Director, Script-Editor, Continuity Supervisor and Picture Editor. During his second year at Humber, Jacob's short script, "Cannibal Dad," was selected to be produced among 80+ student submissions. His most recent project and directorial debut, a green-screen production based on his thriller screenplay, "Monochrome," is set to premiere in June 2023. With formal training and a love for the craft, Jacob's ultimate dream is to be a full-time filmmaker, writing, directing and scoring his films with his signature voice.
