"Nashville Recording Artist Colleen Orender's new music is a Southern Blues Dream with pop sensibilities and a touch of James Bond."- NPR A touring blues and roots artist for decades, Orender turns your hometown venues into smoldering 1930's Mississippi juke joints. She teamed up with Michael Davey (Martina McBride, Angie Aparo)in Nashville to produce her new sound that many are comparing to Amy Winehouse with Julie London's essence. "Run Right Back to You" could very well be an Adele b-side. There is an inescapable adult contemporary-meets-disco sparkle to the production, an apt showcase for her rich, genre-morphing vocal tone." - American Songwriter Magazine "Colleen Orender Stuns With Sultry & Bluesy "Love Me Harder" While comparisons to Adele might be too easy, Orender instead conveys modern pop sensibilities with a bygone sultry bluesy sound that rekindles days of Muscle Shoals records and explosive horn sections. Glide is thrilled to premiere the boisterous "Love Me Harder" below which rewrites its own in the pocket vocals to a soundtrack of modern soul." - Glide Magazine Born in Tampa, Colleen Orender began her career singing with her Grandfather's country band at the age of five. Orender learned to sing by listening to the radio with the encouragement of her Grandfather, a talented singer and multi- instrumentalist who would drop off Dolly Parton and Patsy Cline tapes to her when she was in elementary school. She attributes learning how to harmonize and sing without any lessons to her upbringing in the Pentecostal Church of God where she sang Gospel music and delved into old Country records. She began auditioning for theatre on her own at age eleven, and quickly fell in love with Acting and Musical Theatre. At sixteen, she formed her own band in Tampa touring the East and West Coast of Florida and began auditioning for Theatre groups with intentions to move to New York and become a Broadway Actress after her studies were completed. While learning to be an accomplished musician she was also a stellar junior golf competitor starting at the age of four with her brother in Tampa, becoming a junior golf champion in Central Florida, and continued competing through high school. Orender studied Musical Theatre and Acting at Florida School of the Arts, and took her first contract in Columbus, Ohio at a live comedy and rock n' roll show Shadowbox Cabaret where she was a featured performer. Her love for songwriting and live music ignited once again and led to her first demo recording at nineteen in New York City at Deep Diner Studios with Allan Schwarzberg ( Barbara Streisand, Rod Stewart, Mountain, to name a few) Allan sent the demo to Nashville and Tim Akers (Music Director/Keys for Prime Time Country TNN, Amy Grant, Faith Hill, Rascall Flatts) and he encouraged her to move to Nashville to pursue a recording career. She sparked interest with many songwriters for her soul blues tone and she became a part-time demo singer while honing in her own skills as a songwriter. Colleen recorded many projects in different genres experimenting with her sound and she started releasing her own songs in 2006, but her true successes came after a decade of touring the US alone penning her life and experiences through the release of "The Company of Older Men - Act One" in 2018. Landing her on iTunes' New Music Daily, NPR special playlists, and AAA radio. She continued releasing singles, videos, and extra projects through the pandemic landing her a management contract with Traincase Management out of Memphis in 2023. Her new song "Push Me Down" is scheduled to be released September 2023, and she is recording her next four singles at Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama for 2024.
