Susanna Åkerlund, as an artist known as SU-EN, is a Swedish dancer, writer and choreographer educated in the dance art Butoh. She studied Butoh 1988-1994 with Yoko Ashikawa in Tokyo, where she was apprenticed to Tomoe Shizune and the Hakutobo group and then took the stage name Su-EN, and in 1992 founded the SU-EN Butoh Company. Åkerlund is involved in performances, work-shops and filmmaking.
