Anna Plaim, nee Mittelstrasser, is an Austrian author, media personality and probably best known for her years as chamber-maid at Berghof. She was employed at Berghof, Obersalzberg, the residence of Adolf Hitler in the Bavarian Alps from 1941-1943, where she took care of the private rooms of Eva Braun and Adolf Hitler. However, In 1943 she was dismissed by Hitler's secretary Martin Bormann when he learned about Anna's father's anti-Nazi sympathies and Catholic background. She moved back to Austria, worked in Vienna, and after WWII ended married the school teacher Karl Plaim. In 2003 she published her autobiography "Bei Hitlers. Zimmermädchen Annas Erinnerungen/ Living with Hitler: Accounts of Hitler's Household Staff" with writer Kurt Kuch. The book and her unique knowledge of Eva Braun and Adolf Hitler made her a frequent guest of talk-shows and documentaries.
