-An industrial designer with a degree from the Université de Montréal and a Master of Science in Applied Sustainable Development from the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC), Mayka Thibodeau's professional practice is guided by the principles of applied sustainable development. Interested in the alternatives to hyper-consumption as the sole response to our needs, the life-cycle approach to objects has led her to see the obsolescence of the goods that surround us as a vast potential for innovation. Over the past eight years, Mayka Thibodeau has developed a multitude of multi-disciplinary projects aimed at finding innovative responses to the interdependence of economic, ecological and social issues in environmental matters, particularly in the management of residual materials.
