Nicknames from some quarters include 'Big AL' and 'Junior' (given a father of the same name) however, on set, he is just known simply as 'Alan'. He stands at a height of 5'11" Alan grew up in and around the Town of Middlesbrough and was employed in various locations throughout the UK, which saw him eventually relocating to North Yorkshire attending events around York. Alan re-settled in a little village on the outskirts of Middlesbrough in 2014 following divorce from his spouse of almost 30 Years, Elaine Carter (nee Taylor) that same year. Alan has a son and two daughters from his past marriage and several grand children. He has a Mother who also lives in Middlesbrough and his father passed from Cancer in 2012. Alan's Brother Mark (who he calls the handsome one of the two brothers) also passed in 1985 at the age of nineteen. Alan attended Hustler Secondary School in Acklam, Middlesbrough and also attended The Eric and Lynne Clark, School of Dance in Middlesbrough 1979 to 1981. He also attended various drama clubs and obtained a Lamda Bronze Medal for Solo Acting Performance whilst undertaking CPD Studies at DJW School of Acting in Stockton-On-Tees, Cleveland UK in 2016. Alan holds a Masters Degree and several Post Graduate Diploma qualifications and continues to support the DJW School. Alan first discovered a flair for acting whilst at secondary school and carried this through, into role play activities to aid training delivery to senior managers in Industry and training of management auditors. His first professional role in the Film industry, came with an acting and singing role in 2007 and he continues to take on a variety of roles in TV, Film and Commercials. Alan considers that he became an Equity Registered Professional Actor quite late in his career, but felt that it was an ideal complement to his existing professional acting registrations, which he has held since 2008. Alan is also a Spiritual Counsellor, a registered Complementary Therapist and volunteers these services in his free time at a local Church in Middlesbrough. Alan is attributed to the following real-life quotes: 1. To live even a fleeting moment of life is to have lived a lifetime! 2. If you analyse it you will probably miss the point! and 3. Never make a decision on the future, on the basis of events today!
