Founder, main songwriter, arranger, composer and lead vocalist for the successful British band, When In Rome who's worldwide hit 'The Promise' reached No. 1 on the US Club Play Chart in 1988 and No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1989. In 2004, The Promise was used as the main end theme for the successful Indie film, Napoleon Dynamite which became a worldwide cult smash! Clive has always had a keen interest in film score with influences from Francis Lai (famous for his love themes including the theme from Love Story) and John Carpenter (Halloween, The Thing). Having been taken at 12 years of age to see the Halle Orchestra play Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake at The Free Trade Hall in Manchester, Clive got the bug for classical music. This influenced his decision to form a band and create music. With many credits for the use of The Promise in popular film and TV shows, in 2018 Clive was given the opportunity to score a full length documentary called 'Robbery of the Heart' by director, Micah Brandt which is due for release later this year. Clive also co-wrote a song called 'The One' with composer and Farrington+Mann, original members of When In Rome UK MD, Pancho Burgos specifically for the movie, Tournament, directed by Patricia DiSalvo Viayra and used as the main end theme. In the summer of 2018 Clive is on tour till the end of September with Farrington+Mann, original members of When In Rome UK (don't ask), Clive is looking forward to working on his next full movie soundtrack!
