Born in Perth, Western Australia, Emma spent the first few years of her life in the small fishing town of Lancelin, WA. Emma's mother working in Administration and her Father, a Police Sergeant, the family often moved depending on his posting. In 2001 the family settled back in Perth and shortly after, Emma's parents divorced. Emma attended Woodvale Secondary College for 2 years, leaving at 15 and enrolling in vocational training to focus her education towards her passions; film and music. She successfully completed qualifications in both the film and music industries, receiving high praise from her lecturers. Growing up Emma displayed a fervour for film and acting, however a reserved person, she did not pursue acting until 2015 when she was offered the lead role in a student project. Through this Emma discovered that acting can be used as another creative outlet and something that she can channel all her emotions into. Working behind the camera, Emma has an interest in screen writing, directing and producing, having successfully written and directed her own short film, 'Sociopath' (2015).
