Maynard Bagang (born 1968) is an Asian-American actor and a lifestyle model. He was born and raised in Angeles City, Philippines, and is the son of Herina, a school teacher, and Rodolfo, an administrative assistant. His father passed away at an early age so Maynard and his siblings Rowena, Ronald and Edgar were raised solely by their mother. A Mechanical Engineering background from Holy Angel University, Philippines and Excelsior College in Albany, New York. He retired as a Police Officer in Las Vegas, Nevada and was awarded by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department the Medal of Honor for rescuing a hostage while taking fire during a robbery shooting. He also served and retired in the US Navy as a Nuclear and Mechanical Engineer where he was awarded five Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals. Maynard is an Iraq war veteran. He was stationed aboard USS Constellation, USS Juneau, USS Conolly, SRF Yokosuka Japan, Puget Sound Naval Nuclear Facility, US Naval Weapons Station Earl NJ, and US Naval Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron One. Maynard was awarded the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist pin while aboard the USS Juneau. He was certified as a Nuclear Technician by Counter-Terrorism Operations Support (CTOS) at the Nevada Nuclear Security Site (NNSS). Maynard also learned and trained Karate in Tokyo, Japan where he attained the rank of a SanDan (3rd degree) Blackbelt under the Japan Karate Association. He was the 2015 Western States Karate Champion and owns a martial arts school in Las Vegas where he teaches karate and firearms. Maynard is currently serving as an Inspector for the Nevada State Athletic Commission. After retiring from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in 2017, Maynard started his acting career. Some of his best works are from the television series' In The Shadows and Define Love Part 2, and from the movies Starstruck, You Are Not Alone, Taylor Twins, and My Father's Keeper where he was also a fight scene coordinator. Maynard also appeared in the documentary film Wristlock: The Martial Arts' Influence on Police Use of Force where he was one of the martial arts experts. He is a proud father of Mark and Sherry, and a proud grandfather of his grandson, Mason.
