Born in Detroit, Amira attended the Academy of Performing Arts for grade school. She first fell in love with acting in the 3rd grade. She was in drama club in 5th grade and then attended high school at Cass Tech where she discovered her gift of storytelling. She is a graduate of Clark Atlanta University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Media - TV/Film/Radio. She interned for CNN's Nancy Grace in college and moved to New York City to purse a career in filmmaking. Amira first garnered attention for her web series, New York Girls TV. She continues releasing other content on the channel, predominantly created by and starring LGBT people of color. When she's not working, she enjoying traveling, eating and listening to music.
