He is best known for his alternate history novel, Resurrection Day, as well as the Lewis Cole series. He has won two Shamus Awards and two Barry Awards. He has been a contestant on several nationally syndicated game shows, including a 2012 episode of Jeopardy! and a 2015 episode of The Chase - both of which he won.
