Ilan is the youngest sister of Anwen O'Driscoll, Tyrnan O'Driscoll, and Star Slade. She is an accomplished equestrian (hunter/jumper), and an award winning visual artist. Her paternal grandfather, Robert O'Driscoll was the founding professor of Celtic Studies at the University of Toronto, with his award winning book The Celtic Consciousness having such contributors as Joseph Campbell and Marshall McLuhan. Her maternal grandfather, Roy Gural, sang with Zal Yanofsky Denny Doherty in his youth.
