Ed Gallo was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He studied Graphic Design at the Brazilian Academy of Art in Sao Paulo and Communications at The University of Guarulhos, also in São Paulo. In Brazil, Edson has worked in the local theater as an actor where the play "Dois perdidos Numa noite suja"(Two lost souls in the dirty night) by Plinio Marcos gave him and his stage partner, Ademar Terra, first place in the City of Guarulhos Drama Festival. His experience on the stage made Edson realize that he would rather direct than act. He directed a couple of plays for the Origin of Art in Sao Paulo, before moving to the USA on a permanent resident visa and focusing on Motion Graphics/Visual Effects that are two of his passions. In the USA, he attended El Camino College in Torrance, California. He successfully finished their two-year program in Motion Graphics/Visual Effects with a 4.0 GPA. In Los Angeles, Ed worked for Caverna Productions where he was the head artist in charge of the Silvio's Restaurant Brazilian Night video, the Carnegie video for their annual tournament. The Carnegie Zombie project for Halloween was his last work before moving to Seattle to attend The Film School created by the legendary screenwriter Stewart Stern (Rebel Without a Cause). Ed was the Los Angeles director of photography for the documentary about the Brazilian singer/actress Rosina Paga.
