From American classics to fringe comedy, Nick Mauldin has made a name for himself by bringing vivid, dynamic characters to life. This year Mauldin will appear in the highly anticipated second season of 'The Food That Built America' on The History Channel. This exciting show centers on the food titans who shaped America and tells the fascinating stories of those who used brains, muscle, blood, sweat and tears to get to America's heart through its stomach, and along the way built cities, invented new technologies and helped win wars. In 2021, Nick is making his film festival debut at the LA Film Festival, the Two Roads International Film Festival, and the Phoenix Short Film Festival premiering films 'I Was There', 'Snakeskin', and 'Wilt' respectively. In addition, he is in the pre-production stages for his own film. Coming off an incredibly productive 2019 and 2020 where he starred in and co-produced two Off-West End premieres in London of 'Hair of Dog' at the Tristan Bates Theatre and 'The Dip' at The Space Arts Centre. Both plays received praise from audiences and critics. In his review of 'Hair of the Dog' for Broadway Baby, Christopher Kelsey said, "Mauldin was absolutely terrific as Brett. When we really got to know him, later in the play, he too was able to show a deep vulnerability which fully rounded the character." From a young age, Nick has been extremely passionate about entertaining people in and out of acting. A two time district champion in Humorous Monologue and performing in Cy Creek's Theatre Department, he took some time away from acting to pursue his passion for music. Gigging and recording music with his band Zzyzx, Mauldin is the original drummer of the hard rock group and spent a lot of time learning multiple instruments and songwriting while playing with them. Upon his return to the stage, Mauldin found an abundance of work in Houston, Texas including Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie and Tony Kushner's Angels in America. After his performance in Amadeus as Mozart, he was awarded Best Actor of 2016 by Broadway World Houston. In that same year, Mauldin trained tirelessly with director Matthew C. Logan to attend East 15 Acting School in London where he would perform a wide range of characters such as Lopakhin in The Cherry Orchard and Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream. When Nick is not auditioning, acting or bartending at Milk and Hops Chelsea, he enjoys spending time with his friends and family, and watching his favorite football team, the Houston Texans, get absolutely slaughtered on gameday.
