Born in 1959, Gweneth grew up between Corpus Christi and Laredo, Texas. She attended the University of Texas at Austin, graduating with a BBA in marketing and a minor in instrumental music. In the late 80's, representatives from Kodak approached the Austin Symphonic Band for members to appear in an upcoming commercial. Gweneth played saxophone with the group, auditioned and was one of the featured band members in the commercial, "Snap Snap", for Kodak/Sprint. The 1998 Robert Rodriguez film, "The Faculty", used members of Austin High School's marching band in filming. A band parent and friend of Gweneth's invited her to be a part of filming the football game used in the movie. Two years later, family friends in the city of Lockhart told her about the filming of "Where the Heart Is", starring Natalie Portman. Ms. Portman's character, Novalee Nation, is a young photographer who travels to Las Vegas to accept an award from Kodak. Gweneth was one of the background actors (uncredited) at the ceremony. Band and Kodak have a wonderful synchronicity in her early ventures. Gweneth has since been part of a number of films, television shows and commercials filmed in the Austin area, retiring in 2017.
