Harini Saravanan was born the eldest of two daughters to Indian immigrants who settled down in Charlotte, North Carolina. As the daughter of a software engineer and an artist she grew up with a knack for science and the arts. At a young age, Harini became a classical Indian dancer which sparked her interest in performing. After graduating high school, Harini took a leap of faith and decided to return to her ancestral grounds in order to pursue her higher studies. Upon arriving in Tamilnadu, India Harini faced various cultural obstacles and quickly grew in new experiences. Most importantly she, previously being a very shy girl, completely grew out of her comfort zone. She constantly was determined to experience life differently and took many risks. This very important characteristic is one of the main reasons she is an actress today. She credits her time in India for her willingness to learn, determination, and resilience in the art. After returning to the US, Harini moved to Winston-Salem where she began method acting classes with Burgess Jenkins and the Carolina Actor's group. Here she studies Stanford Meisner techniques which has helped her land several roles in film and local commercials.
