Iggy London is an award winning British filmmaker, artist and writer, known for his distinctive style and telling gripping surreal stories in his film. Emerging at the height of the post-Moonlight cultural zeitgeist, his films are emotionally dense and touch on themes of identity, community and coming of age. Iggy is committed to creating works that shift the boundaries of cinema, culture and beyond. His debut short film, Black Boys Don't Cry, which was adapted from a poem he wrote, investigates stereotypical notions of masculinity. In 2018, he released Velvet which tackles conversations surrounding knife crime in the UK capital. The film went on to win Best Experimental Film at the Thunderdance Cannes Film Festival. His more recent short film, Rite of Passage, commissioned by Nowness, is a coming of age film centered around everyday experiences of two brothers living in inner city London.
