Arun Gemini

Arun Gemini is a Delhi-based Hindi poet well known and widely popular in the field of Hasya Kavita (a poem written in a humorous genre). He is popularly called a 'gem of Haryanvi Comedy' about his name as his comedy is a satirical take on the harshness of society. Arun Gemini, through his comedy, brings these social evils to light and treats them in a humorous way. Gemini has a Masters degree in Hindi from Hans Raj College, Delhi University from where he graduated in 1980. He has many published works accredited to his name like Filhaal Itna Hi Hai, Khoon Bolta Hai, Hasya Vyangya Ki Shikhar kavitaaye among many others in the list. He has written a wide range of articles on issues, which are regularly published in various newspapers and magazines. Arun Gemini is also renowned for his satires and poems. Recently, he was one of the organizing members of the Hasya Kavi Sammelan in which he performed live for the audience. Although Gemini's act comprises of a diverse and dynamic range what makes him stand out and unique is his comedy in the Haryanvi accent. He belongs to Haryana and through his skills of observation, Gemini presents an act which is based on the everyday life of the Haryanvi people. He was one of the many performers on the Indian comic poetry series 'Wah! Wah! Kya Baat hai!' which aired on September 15, 2012. Many Hasya Kavis and Shayars gained immense popularity through the show and among them was Arun Gemini. He is highly respected by his fans and everyone alike and has amassed awards to his credit for his outstanding work in the field of Hindi poetry, among which are awards like Kaka Hathrasi Hasya Ratna in the year 2000 and Kaka Hathrasi of Hindi Sahitya Academy.
