Brian Mahlum

Best known for the Spiritual Films he has been embarking on with Marilynn Hughes since the shut downs began in 2020. Brian George Mahlum grew up in a small farming town in Wisconsin. His father Dale was a teacher turned successful banker. His mom Kathryn ran the women's fashion store in town. They are now retired. Brian has two older brothers, Steve and Scott and a younger sister Jenny. They remain a very close knit group. Brian started writing screenplays at the age of 11 and began doing skits in high school. But it wasn't until he starred in a college play that the troubled artist knew what he had to do. So he went off to New York, then London and the Lee Strasberg Institute before settling in Los Angeles with his most significant influence, Eric Morris. By this point Brian had a handful of tight screenplays he had written over the years. So he chose two and shot them back to back "The Surrealist" which was originally called "The Sculptor", and was inspired by his love for French films, and The Hostel Poet". Brian chose those two films because the two characters in which he played were polar opposites from one another. In one, a painfully introverted artist, in the other, a cold-blooded killer. Now, after traveling the world looking for stories, he has settled on what he knows his true purpose and direction are for this lifetime. And that is to mine and share the most significant assistance to the spiritual development of all souls through movies.
