Joy comes from a family of very talented musicians, story tellers, and creative people; whereas she holds no musical talent personally but loves to make people laugh. Her mother Linda played the piano at the church from age 5 until she married, and continues to be spoken of fondly by everyone who knows her as a beautiful pianist. Joy's dad Jimmy regularly sat the kids down to enjoy family music time where they would take their turns shouting out "White Lightning!" or "Guitarzan!" as he played his 1966 Silvertone guitar. Her five brothers are also extremely talented musically, with moderate fame following them. Her brother Terry performed in San Antonio in popular hard rock bands such as Thin Ice, JudgeMental, and LoKey over a 30+ year span, getting to meet musicians along the way such as Megadeath, Pantera, and Rob Halford and is a talented voiceover artist in 2022. Her eldest brother Arthur (Arty) performed for a short time in bands with friends such as Alchemy and AxeMinister, with AxeMinister being his musical pseudo name. For decades he merely practiced hours each day to stay sharp and for personal enjoyment, with inspirations such as Jan Akkerman, Robin Trower, Dave Murray, and Brian Robertson. Today he plays in several local bands across the Garland/Dallas, Texas area, with increasing popularity. Joy, feeling left out of the excitement, entered the entertainment world by performing improvisational character acting through local theme parks in San Antonio, Texas. After five years, and as she gained friends in entertainment, she continued performing through short film and movie roles, where she acted in and produced short films. August 2019, Joy branched out into the Producer role in the San Antonio 48 Hour Film Project. In addition to being the sole producer, she appeared in her first on-screen speaking role as Ava the Virtual Matchmaker in her short film "Love Lynk". "Love Lynk" took home three acting awards and a fourth for makeup and costuming, with Joy receiving runner-up for Best Supporting Actress. She continued to pursue more training in improvisation and added experience in interactive improvisational comedy shows with fellow actors and her stand-up comedian friends, which she performs in 2022. With ever-arching goals of positively influencing the general public through entertainment and a caring spirit, Joy is writing film and influence scripts and also a biography in 2022 for future releases not yet announced.
