Derek Shaw

Derek "Flash Garments" Shaw is an actor/musician/songwriter from the Bronx, NY. He has a strong background in music as his uncle, Lovebug Starski, is a pioneer of hip hop and was the one who coined the term/phrase "Hip Hop." Derek grew up in the Bronx but eventually moved to Florida in his teenage years. He now resides in Los Angeles. Before he moved to LA, he was living back in NY in Battery Park, Manhattan working with singer/songwriter/tech guru Ryan Leslie. He is now an affiliate of YFS and is currently working with Grammy award winning singer/songwriter Eric Bellinger on creative projects both musically and entrepreneurial endeavors such as the new 2090 New Vintage store on Melrose.
