Gabriel Esdras

Born in the neighborhood of Mezquitán, in the city of Guadalajara, in 2001, son of a couple of punk musicians. At the age of 16 he produced his first medium-length documentary in super8. At 18 he started studying at the Department of Image and Sound (DIS). At 20 he produced his first short film, "Él, detrás del arma", winner of the CECA 2022 grant, winner of the Hecho en Jalisco award at FICG 2023 and part of the Official Selection of FICM 2023. In 2023 he received Grodman support for audiovisual production for his second short film and support from PECDA for the writing of his opera prima. His short film "Elevación" was the only Ibero-American project selected for La Cinef at the Cannes Film Festival in 2024.
