Nicola Coppock was born in Rotterdam, Holland on 16th April 1978. At the time her parents had moved there from Jarrow in the North East of England, for work. They returned to Jarrow less than 2 years later and this was the base where Nicola was raised. The Geordie accent pronunciation for Nicola was very different from the Dutch and Nicola soon became Nikki as her mother said it no longer sounded exotic. Nikki was 4 when her parents separated and she stayed with her mother and new partner, who became a fun step father. She also inherited a step brother who she got on great with. Throughout Nikki's childhood she moved around, to country side, farm house, cities but was always drawn back to her little home town of Jarrow. Nikki always had a passion for film and drama and enjoyed performing in local youth theatres. Her first teacher was Michael McNally, who had links to TV productions and landed some of Nikki's peer's roles in Byker Grove and The Bill. Nikki loved the drama, and tried to dance and sing. The dancing needed lots of work and the singing was unfortunate for people around her! In 2000 Nikki married her teenage sweetheart Paul who was a popular local DJ. Despite Nikki's burning ambition to become an actress her parents and peers convinced her to pursue a realistic career and in 2001 she joined the Police. Spending a huge chunk of her service working in Safeguarding, helping children and vulnerable adults. In 2004 Nikki gave birth to her son Lewis and in 2006 her daughter Katie. Katie also had a passion for drama and participated in theatre shows often playing a comedy role with her quirky sense of humour. In 2018 Katie was signed up by model agencies in London and enjoyed this but joined a local agency, NE14.TV, to try and gain some local work. Nikki thought this was an excellent opportunity for her daughter. She wished she could have done this as a child. Katie asked her Mam to join too. Thinking she was past it Nikki reluctantly set up a profile with the agency and has never looked back. Her first role was in March 2018 on period drama Frontier alongside Jason Mamoa and many other A list stars. This ignited her ambition for drama and media and from then Nikki gained many walk on roles in productions such as Vera (a prison officer -series 9) and then a regular PC (series 10), The Bay, The A Word. She was seen in Cinema's on Moving On Tyne and Wear advert and became the face supporting people getting back into work, on posters, promotions, billboards and their website. This was her second ever role and appeared to open up more doors for her with her big smile and honest and natural spark. Nikki has been cast in some main character roles such as Margaret, who is a mother in series 4 of CAE Education videos, appearing in all episodes of the series in 2019. Adverts for SPSC Security, as the main character's wife, Barratt Homes as a customer buying a house. A customer for Octa Support Pillow advert. She also appeared along side Scarlett Moffatt in Richmond Sausages TVC and in M&S Christmas Food TVC 2018. Nikki was cast as the Traffic Warden in Ken Loach's film Sorry We Missed You due for release on 1st November 2019. Her most recent work, currently in production - 2019, is the role of Mother, who is the leader of a demonic cult web series, working name The Cult. This is a role Nikki is excited about. A psychotic, cold female in charge who is not afraid to get her hands dirty. Nikki is excited to see what her future holds and truly sticks by her life motto 'Better Late Than Never'.
